The Smile Squad plays a crucial role in bringing our mission to life, fostering community connection, and reclaiming the legacy of Dorothea Dix Hospital for modern healing.
What you'll do
As part of The Smile Squad, you'll be involved in:
- Hospitality & Station Support: Leading interactive "Coping Strategy Stations" to demonstrate mental wellness tools.
- Community Engagement: Bridging the gap between mental health professionals and the Raleigh public, acting as a Visible People Ambassador.
- Historical Context: Helping us reclaim the Dorothea Dix Hospital legacy for modern healing.

We also invite academic institutions to bring a cohort of students to the event as VIP guests or to join the Smile Squad and experience a day of restoration and community building.
The sign-up process
Once you fill out the form below, here's what to expect:
- Submit your volunteer interest through our simple form.
- We are incorporating relaxed 2-hour shifts for the times 1-6 PM at the event.
- You'll receive a special "Volunteers" t-shirt to wear during the event.
- Further details regarding your shift and responsibilities will be shared closer to the event date.
